Element 2 – Skepqin

Skepkin is a concept that signifies more theoretical and philosophical forms of thinking. It is a concept that is prevalent throughout law school and throughout the legal profession. In law school, we not only learn what the law is but how we came to establish the law. In a way, it refers to the history of ideas. Skepkin reflects the concept that we as human beings are always dynamic and changing. Thinking abstractly allows us to reflect on who we are, why we believe what we believe, and why we behave the way we do.  In this section, we are going to explore case law and try to better understand how we got to the point that we are at today. We will look at the history of ideas, and we will look at the interaction between Indigenous and European ways of thinking.
